Scottish National Stillwater Bank Championship 2013

The Stillwater Bank Championship competition is open to anglers who meet the eligibility criteria to represent Scotland at International event. Full details on criteria can be found here. 
 
7 venues will hold heats this year and the final will be on Sunday 23rd June at Lochter Fishery. All the details are here.
 
Anglers can enter more than once to gain a place at the final. From the final the 2013 Team of 6 anglers and 1 reserve will be selected to compete for Scotland at the Stillwater International. 
 
In response to feedback we are trying to make it easier to enter the competition this year. To book your place, please contact the relevant Fishery direct. Fees will be collected on the day.

Local rules can be set by the fishery and must be observed by all competitors.
The competition will be fished on a catch and release basis.

Membership of SANA is not a requirement to enter the competition but if selected to represent Scotland at the International Match anglers will need to take out Individual membership of SANA. Membership forms are available here.

(100 points per fish then 20 points for each cm)

Brain Kerr , Ireland won the largest rainbow trophy with fish of 48cm.

Scotland Bank Team win Gold in Ireland

Scotland’s bank team have won gold in Ireland. The team were Kenny Hunter, Captain, Alec Bowler, Andrew Barrowman, Richard McHattie, John Morton, Euan Miller, Daniel McCormick was reserve and the Manager was Fraser Renwick. In very difficult conditions Scotland overcame the weather and the demands of the venue to perform as a team with every team member contributing. When every fish was crucial keeping to the plan was essential and as a result Scotland had 3 anglers in the top 5 individual rankings with John Morton receiving Silver Medal as runner up. The full results were :

Next year Wales are hosts and in 2013 the competition will be held in Scotland.

Scottish National Fly Fishing League

Premier League & First Division

Congratulations to the winners and in particular to Dick Logan on being the 2011 Premier League Champion and to Hughie Skeoch on being the First Division Champion. The presentation of medals and trophies will take place later in the year.

Our grateful thanks go to all participants for making this year such a success with special thanks to the Controllers who gave up their valuable time.

To note the top four anglers in the First Division will be promoted to the Premier League in 2012; there is a relegation process in place for the lower four in the Premier League who will move to the First Division.

SNFFL Selection Policy - World and European Teams 

SANA Competitions Committee is pleased to announce the Selection Policy for the World and European Teams from 2012 onwards.

This year's Scottish National Fly Fishing League (SNFFL) will identify the anglers to represent Scotland at the World Championships in Slovenia and the European Championships in Portugal in 2012.  SNFFL entry criteria for 2011 is here
