The Scottish Anglers National Association Ltd

Picture
Established in 1985 (with roots going back to 1880) by the amalgamation the Scottish National Angling Clubs Association with the Scottish Anglers Association, the Scottish Anglers National Association Limited (SANA) now represents the interests of all game anglers working with other related bodies and environmental interests to protect and enhance the Scottish aquatic environment in order to take game angling through the 21st century.

It is totally Scottish, based in the heart of Scotland looking after the welfare and interests of all Game Anglers in Scotland. It became a Company Limited by Guarantee in January 2006 (Registered Number SC295297).

SANA is recognised by sportscotland as the Governing Body for the Sport of Game Angling in Scotland and its current Mission Statement asserts that its objectives to:

  1.  Promote the sport of Game Angling in Scotland.
  2.  Promote friendship and co-operation among Scottish anglers by encouraging the formation of Angling Clubs, Associations and Federation of such clubs and Associations.
  3.  Protect, represent and advance the interests of SANA members in dealings with Government, Local Authorities and other interested groups.
  4.  Co-operate with other angling bodies to promote these objectives.
  5.  Generally, to protect and further the interests of angling and anglers in Scotland.
  6.  Further these objectives, the Association may enter into business ventures with an angling interest, always provided that any committees are not open ended and are of limited liability to the Association.
The Association expects its members, as an Individual, an Associate, Club or members within affiliated Clubs and all members of SANA Committees, to uphold the values and principles upon which SANA is based, as set out in the SANA Value Statement.
